Pac-12 Championship Game

 Here we're going to have a quarter by quarter update of the 2020 Pac-12 Championship Game of USC vs Oregon. Before kickoff I believe that we're gong to have a great game on our hands with the two best teams in the Pac-12, I fell that USC is going to pull out a win late in the game. Oregon's defense is just too young and make too many mistakes aka not tackling and their offense just goes quiet in the second half.

1st Quarter- Lewis kicking the ball out of bounds to start the game could be a story tonight I just don't like his leg I really don't. USC throws a interception on 3rd and 10 Lenior takes it to the 20 with a facemask penalty bringing the ball too the 10 yard line. Two plays later Oregon scores from the 2 yard line with Anthony Brown throwing his first touchdown of the season to Jaylon Redd 7-0 Ducks. Another interception by Slovis and Oregon capitalizes three plays later with a touchdown of Shough to Kampmoyer 14-0 Ducks. Oregon comes up big with a tackle for loss on 4th down resulting in a turnover on downs. USC gets on the board with a 47 yard touchdown pass from Slovis to St. Brown 14-7 Ducks. 

2nd Quarter- Second quarter almost begins disastrously for Oregon with Shough dropping the handoff but luckily for Oregon he jumps on the ball, series results in a punt with USC starting on their own 6. Oregon's defense forces does their job and forces a punt that is almost blocked by Oregon, Oregon starts on their own 45 yard line. Oregon scores from 16 yards with a RRO play that sees DJ Johnson catch a pass from Shough 21-7 with 9:45 left in the 2nd quarter. USC completes a 12 play scoring drive going 80 yards and running the ball in with Markese Stepp from the 1 yard line 21-14 Ducks with 4:35 left to play in the half. Oregon having a great drive that ends with a interception having no clue what Shough was throwing at, Trojans return the ball to Oregon's 22 yard line with 1:30 left to play. USC misses a 47 yard field goal to end the half. 21-14 Ducks is your score heading into the break with Oregon receiving the 3rd quarter kickoff

3rd Quarter- Oregon returns the 2nd half kickoff to the 20 yard line. The ensuing drive ends with a 14 play 83 yard touchdown drive with Anthony Brown connecting with Travis Dye from 4 the 4 yard line 28-14 Ducks with 7:20 left in the 3rd. It's good to note that Oregon successfully completed two 3rd downs and one 4th down on this drive. The Trojans respond with a 13 play drive that ends with 21 yard field goal. On the kickoff the Trojans complete an onside kick and get the ball back on their own 47 yard line. Oregon's defense responds by forcing the Trojans to punt.

4th Quarter- Begins with Oregon punting on a 4th and 3, during the punt USC commits a personal foul of roughing the kicker and Oregon getting the ball back. Oregon may fianlly have kicker!!!! Katleman makes a 40 yard field goal to put the ducks up by 14 again making it 31-17 with 10:26 left in the game. USC completes a 12 play drive resulting in a 4 yard touchdown pass from Slovis to McCoy 31-24 with 6:16 left in the fourth. Oregon is forced to punt after going three and out with 4:43 left in the game. USC was marching down the field when Slovis throws his 3rd interception with Hill making his second of the night, Oregon takes over with 2:49 left in the game. Oregon forced to punt after going 3 and out and almost losing the ball on mis handled handoff. USC takes over with 23 seconds left 80 yards to go. OREGON FORCES A SACK TO END THE GAME BACK TO BACK PAC-12 CHAMPIONS!!!!

Congratulations Oregon the defense finally played like we thought they should be, this team was on fire and hyped all the way through the game and bot did I love seeing that. Yes my prediction was wrong because i said USC would win and thank god I was wrong this team a made me eat my words and I love it. Stay tuned for my next blog on which QB Oregon should start in their bowl game, becuase after tonight we may have a QB controversy.
